Application for Prospective LJPC SunHouse Middle School Ministry Leader

High School students are eligible to apply for the position of Middle School Ministry Volunteer Leader during their junior or senior year.

This application form (made available on October 11th, 2022) will be due to the Director of Middle School Ministry (Abraham Musto) no later than November 11, 2022. The form should be printed and signed. Eligible students will be invited for an interview at La Jolla Presbyterian Church with the Director of Middle School Ministry (Abraham Musto) and the Director of High School Ministry (Sophie Nicles) during the month of January 2022. Students who apply in October 2022/interview in January 2022 are eligible to begin serving as a volunteer at the end of January 2022.

Below are the expectations for our high school student applicants in the months leading up to their interview, as well as for the duration of their time serving as a middle school ministry volunteer leader. If I am in need of additional resources to learn more about this, practice spiritual disciplines, or get connected to a mentor I will reach out and make that request! [This is an expectation because ministry leaders cannot disciple or lead others closer to God if we are not growing in our own relationships with God].

I will attend SunHouse High School Ministry SunHouse weekly program (Sunday nights). If I am sick or have a significant reason to be absent, I will contact the Director of High School Ministry (Sophie Nicles) 24 hours in advance if possible. [This is an expectation because we want you to be connected to a church community, designed to cultivate your faith-formation, with your peers in the same life-stage]!

I will attend SunHouse High School Ministry SunHouse weekly program (Sunday nights). If I am sick or have a significant reason to be absent, I will contact the Director of High School Ministry (Sophie Nicles) 24 hours in advance if possible. [This is an expectation because we want you to be connected to a church community, designed to cultivate your faith-formation, with your peers in the same life-stage]!

I will maintain involvement at La Jolla Presbyterian Church by attending weekly Worship services. [This is an expectation because we want you to be connected to a church community, designed to cultivate your faith-formation, with the opportunity to experience intergenerational ministry and relationships].
