6th Grade Parent Night

Regardless if you are a new parent or a parent of one of our current students, we would love to have you attend our incoming 6th grade parent night. We will be walking through Wednesday night program, answering questions, and giving you the inside scoop on what's to come for your student as they enter SunHouse. 

We schedule it following a children's night program so  you can swing by after you pick up your kiddos.

We would love to see you there! We will have light snacks and drinks while we talk and you are able to ask any questions you may have about SunHouse!

5th to 6th Night

5th to 6th Night is an incredible night for your student to be welcomed into a new program! Following Children's program your student will be walked over to Middle School program by their leaders. 

There we will celebrate them with something just for them! This will include a fun activity and a late snack! 

This helps the students meet the leaders and feel more comfortable with the big change!

This is a free event!

In order to participate we just need a 2025 permission slip form filled out and for your student to be cleared!

5th Grade Only Night

We want to do a 5th grade only night for incoming 5th grade students to really help them acclimate to what we do. There is are big differences between Children's program and Middle School program so we want to give them a night on their own!

The Middle School Schedule for Wednesdays:
5PM-5:30 Food and hangout
5:30-6PM Large group games
6PM-7PM Upstairs Time (upfront game, announcements, worship, talk)

They will get to see familiar faces of leaders that have moved to leading with Middle School and connect to the space as a whole!

This is of course free!

Confirmation/Baptism 2025

Presbyterians describe baptism as a sign and seal of the covenant of grace made by God through Jesus and extended to us. In baptism, God claims us as beloved children and members of Christ’s body, the church, washing us clean from sin as we renounce the power of evil and seek the will and way of God." La Jolla Presbyterian Church enthusiastically celebrates baptisms for infants, children adolescents, and adults.

Confirmation is an opportunity for students to learn more about their own faith, Church history, our unique La Jolla Pres. community, the Presbyterian (PCUSA) denomination, and what it looks like to spend a lifetime in a flourishing faith community. Confirmation is significant step in a child’s ongoing faith formation and development as a disciple of Jesus! Over the past few years, our youth staff has witnessed students becoming increasingly interested in asking complex questions and taking responsibility for their own faith commitments: we hope this course will be a valuable tool to empower them!
